Description :
This is an oil on canvas painting by Borriello, dated 1943, depicting a military figure seated in full dress uniform. The subject, portrayed with meticulous detail, wears an elaborate and formal military outfit, suggesting a high-ranking officer or a figure of significant importance, possibly during the World War II era.
The composition emphasizes the commanding presence of the military man, seated in a dignified pose, with attention paid to the intricate details of the uniform, including medals, epaulets, and other military regalia. The style of the painting may lean towards realism, with sharp, lifelike features and carefully rendered fabric textures, capturing both the prestige and formality of the subject.
Borriello has signed the painting in the lower right corner, marking it as an original work. As a 1943 piece, the painting may carry historical significance, especially given its wartime context, offering collectors both artistic and historical value. This portrait stands as a striking representation of a military figure, blending the personal with the ceremonial.
