Description :
Handmade Suffolk Puff Small Coverlet by Karen Lewis. Yo-yo quilts were especially popular in the United States from the 1920s through the 1940s. They were a resourceful "scrap project" during the Great Depression, allowing quilters to use small bits of leftover fabric, such as from old clothing or feed sacks. Unlike traditional quilts, yo-yo quilts are typically made without batting or a back. The rosettes are hand-sewn together at their edges to form a mesh-like "coverlet" or "counterpane". 48”x46”
Fabric circles called yo-yos, also known as Suffolk puffs. These 3D fabric rosettes are created by gathering the edges of a fabric circle with a running stitch and pulling it tight to create a puckered disk.
