Description :
Antique Wooden Barrel with a Matching Removable Wood Lid Crafted from vertical wooden staves held together securely by multiple horizontal wood hoops. It features a traditional bulging bilge profile that was designed historically for rolling and easy maneuvering. The top consists of a split or solid flat wooden head, complete with a small central wooden handle block for lifting. Westbrook is a coastal town located in Middlesex County, Connecticut. It has long-standing maritime, shipbuilding, and coastal farming traditions. The Stannards are one of the prominent, foundational families of Westbrook. Notable historic figures from the area include Sea Captain Elbert Stannard and George O. Stannard, who was a local public figure and ran for State Representative in Westbrook in 1896. If full payment is not received before the pick-up date and time, the items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked. Pick-up address will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes. All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. At our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee may be charged. A 15% Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers that provide a current Re-sellers Permit. We make every effort to describe lot items as accurately as possible. Expect normal signs of wear associated with antiques, vintage, and used items. We do not list every flaw.
