Description :
Japanese Trimont Ware & Porcelain Musical Teapots (1) Vintage Pompadour Rose Floral Porcelain Musical Teapot. The teapot features an embossed ribbed porcelain body decorated with a multi-colored bouquet of cabbage roses, elegant gold gilt trim accents on the handle, spout, and rim, and houses a mechanical music box built into its base. These sets were typically produced mid-century (circa 1950s–1960s) in Japan or Europe for department store import brands like Montgomery Ward. When lifted off the table, a winding pin on the bottom releases, allowing the internal music box mechanism to play a classical tune. The music box works, but very slowly. Musical 9"x7.5"
