Description :

1940s Authentic World War II U.S. Army Military-Issue Snowshoes Made By C.A. Lund In Hastings, Minnesota

Materials: Bent wood frames with rawhide or babiche netting and leather foot bindings

Type: Long, narrow trail-style snowshoes designed for deep powder and straight-line walking.

These specific 10x58 Lund snowshoes are highly sought after by military collectors. They were standard issue for the 10th Mountain Division and the First Special Service Force ("Devil's Brigade"), elite infantry divisions trained specifically for mountain and winter warfare. The divisions famously fought in the brutal winter conditions of the Italian Apennines during WWII

This exceptionally long, narrow "pickerel" or "trail" profile was standard military issue designed for straight-line trekking through deep, open snowpack

Both shoes are stamped with military serial number, size & date:

"7364, 10x58, 1942"

"15473, 10x58, 1943"

These snowshoes appear to be in very nice condition for being issued in the 1940s. The wood and rawhide bindings look incredibly well-preserved, making them a fantastic, historically significant piece of military history

Both are 58"L x 10"W
