Description :

Vintage Hinalung , A Traditional Tactical Dagger & Spearhead From The Philippines

Used by the Igorot and Ifugao people of the mountainous Cordillera region in Northern Luzon, Philippines

Dual-Purpose Design: The Hinalung is uniquely engineered to function as a standalone hand dagger or utility knife, but its hollow socket handle allows it to be easily attached to a wooden pole to serve as a spearhead

Blade Style: It features a hand-wrought, spear-shaped double-edged iron or steel blade

The Grip: The integral socket handle is traditionally wrapped in a complex, decorative weave of braided rattan fibers to provide a secure grip

Open-Faced Scabbard: It is accompanied by its signature traditional open wooden scabbard, which keeps one side of the blade exposed and is held together or secured to a belt using matching woven rattan bands

Because this piece features a modern export label tape marking, it is classified as an ethnographic souvenir

Authentic Craftsmanship: Even though it was made for commercial sale, these souvenirs were typically still handcrafted in the Cordillera region using traditional woodcarving, rattan-weaving, and metal-forging techniques—making it a genuine piece of Philippine cultural handicraft rather than a mass-produced factory replica

Hinalung: 12"L x 1.75"W

Wood Scabbard: 9.75"T x 2.75"W

Very unique piece!
